Policy
Acceptable Use Policy
qhost runs code for many customers on shared servers. This policy keeps those servers fast, reachable and trustworthy for everyone. By using qhost you agree to it.
Not allowed
- Cryptocurrency mining of any kind, including mining pools, proxies and "idle" or browser miners, and anything that exists mainly to burn CPU or GPU.
- Spam and bulk email: unsolicited messages, purchased or scraped lists, open relays. Outbound port 25 is closed; send through an email provider on port 465 or 587.
- Attacks and scanning: denial of service, port or vulnerability scanning of hosts you don't own, brute forcing logins, exploiting systems, botnets and command-and-control servers.
- Malware and phishing: hosting or distributing malicious software, credential harvesting pages, pages that impersonate other organizations.
- Illegal content: child sexual abuse material, content that infringes copyright or trademarks, sale of illegal goods or services, anything that violates applicable law.
- Open proxies and anonymizers available to the public, VPN or Tor exit nodes, and services that let others hide abuse behind qhost.
- Getting around the platform's limits: escaping or probing container isolation, reaching other customers' workloads or the platform's own systems, the server's metadata or internal networks, or creating accounts to dodge plans, quotas or a suspension.
- Harassment and violent extremism: content that threatens, harasses or promotes violence against people.
How we detect abuse
To protect the platform, qhost automatically:
- screens deployments for mining software before they build or start;
- blocks outbound traffic to mining pools, the stratum mining protocol, cloud metadata services and private networks, from both running services and builds;
- looks for mining processes in running services and for services pinned at their CPU limit for long periods;
- limits builds in time, CPU, memory and processes.
These checks look at process names, network destinations and build files. They don't read your databases, volumes or request contents.
What happens when we find abuse
- Deployments that match mining software are refused and the deploy log says why.
- Confirmed mining suspends the workspace: its services stop and nothing can be deployed until we review it.
- Other violations may lead to a warning, stopping the service involved, suspending the workspace or closing the account, depending on severity. Serious or repeated abuse is not refunded.
- We may report illegal activity to the authorities and cooperate with valid legal requests.
If you believe a suspension is a mistake, reply to the suspension email or write to [email protected]. We review every appeal.
Report abuse
See something on a *.qhost.dev address or a site hosted on qhost that breaks this policy? Email [email protected] with the URL or IP address, the time and what you observed. For phishing and malware, include the full URL.
Changes
We may update this policy as the platform and threats change. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes are announced by email.
